Dior Fahrenheit

XavierAug 11, 2016 Cologne Reviews

When I first started my fragrance journey in middle school, there were fragrances that everyone knew about CK One , Curve, Cool Water and the list goes on. But there was one fragrance that I never had a chance to smell that was a cult classic in the fragrance world, and that was Dior Fahrenheit. I am not sure why it took me almost 20 years to smell this scent. But thankfully I”m finally getting the chance to review a true legend.

Fahrenheit’s bottle design is really simple but gorgeous. I love the beautiful transition in color from black to red, and the bottle feels nice in my palm with a nice weight to it. The sprayer is top notch really giving a nice amount of juice on your skin.

Notes & Scent

Top Notes: Lavender, Mandarin Orange, Hawthorn, Nutmeg Flower, Cedar, Bergamot, Chamomile and Lemon

Middle Notes: Nutmeg, Honeysuckle, Carnation, Sandalwood, Violet leaf, Jasmine, Lily-of-the-valley and Cedar

Base Notes: Leather, Tonka Bean, Amber, Patchouli, Musk and Vetiver

Fahrenheit was created by Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Maurice Roger in 1988, These guys found every ingredient in the tool shed for this one.

Man this is a unique scent, I have never had a fragrance change so drastically from the opening to end. When I first spray on Fahrenheit I get a strong smack to the nose of petroleum. It reminds me of opening my small shed where my lawn mower is at, I know weird. After about 20 minutes, the feeling that just left the gas station starts to slowly die down and a really nice Violet leaf , Vetiver and Nutmeg start to come out. The middle and dry notes really make Fahrenheit transform into a beautiful scent. Every time I wear this fragrance, I appreciate it more and more and understand why it has stood the test of time. I still can’t believe this Fahrenheit was created in 1988.

I get average to above average projection from Fahrenheit. When my body heats up I feel like it’s really projecting well, but once my body temperature drops so does the projection. I get 4 hours of really good projection, I have heard that older formulations were known to have beastly projection. All that being said I really think Fahrenheit projects pretty well, not beast mode but enough for me.

BBEEAASSSTTT MMMOOODDEEEE. Fahrenheit just last and last on my skin. It becomes more of a skin scent at around the 7 hour mark but after that it really stays on your skin. I wanted to test the longevity so I sprayed Fahrenheit at 5pm. The next day at around 1pm I could still smell small traces of the violet leaf and leather. Dior has really put quality ingredients that last on your skin, Kudos Dior Kudos!

Season: Anytime

Age Group:25 and up.

This scent is really a jack of all trades that can be worn pretty much anywhere. Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall. Office and Casual use. Really surprised how Fahrenheit progressed on my skin into a jack of all scents fragrance.

Price $45- $100

My Overall Feedback

Dior Fahrenheit is a true legend and worth every penny. One of the most versatile scents in my collection. It’s hard to believe this gem was created in 1988, but yet still has a very modern vibe. I really enjoy Fahrenheit and can’t wait to try the other Dior Fahrenheit flankers very soon!

Brooklyn's Feedback

Just like X says, that first spray is pretty rough, gas station all the way, but after it dies down, it’s really nice. Soft, yet still masculine. I really love how the mix of slightly sweet notes mix with the savory warm notes. This is a really nice fragrance and one I would strongly suggest having. Just make sure you spray 30 minutes before you have to go anywhere.
