L’eau D’Issey Pour HommeL’eau D’Issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake brings back memories when I was a young buck working in retail. I remember my friend asking me if I have ever smelled Issey Miyake, and I said: “not yet”. He, of course, had the bottle with him and let me test it out. At first, it came off strong to my nose but after the day was over I had to purchase a bottle for myself. Now that was back in 2003, fast forwarding to the present L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme is a staple in my summer lineup. I have only a handful of fragrances that I keep coming back to over my lifetime and L’eau D’Issey is one of them. Let’s dive into this review L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme comes in a simple package, a gray and white box with the standard name of the fragrance front and center. The packaging keeps with the design of the bottle super clean and modern. It’s hard to imagine that L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme was created in 1994, the bottle seems so trendy and relevant. The bottle shape reminds me of a modern skyscraper you would see in Dubai, tall, beautiful and elegant. This beautiful bottle has frosted glass that allows you to see the fragrance. The cap itself is pretty light and a little cheap, but I am ok with it since it goes with the design of the bottle well. The sprayer works perfectly, giving just the right amount of juice, not too little and not too much. Overall I really like the sleek and clean presentation, the sprayer works wonderfully as well. Top Notes: Coriander, Cypress, Mandarin Orange, Tarragon, Yuzu, Lemon Verbena, Sage, Bergamot, Lemon and Calone Middle Notes: Nutmeg, Mignonette, Ceylon Cinnamon, Bourbon Geranium, Saffron, Lily-of-the-Valley and Blue Lotus Base Notes: Tahitian Vetiver, Musk, Sandalwood, Cedar, Amber and Tobacco L’eau D’Issey was created by Jacques Cavallier in 1994, and he created one of the best Summer & Spring fragrance of all time. Upon first spraying L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme, the first thing you’ll notice is that this is a quality fragrance. I know L’eau D’Issey is an EDT but it feels like more like an EDP on my skin, super oily and screaming quality. The top notes on L’eau D’Issey come off strong, with a blast of Yuzu, Lemon, Blue Lotus and other fresh notes that are hard to pinpoint. Looking at the notes breakdown Jacques Cavallier threw everything except the kitchen sink into this one. After the top notes start to simmer down which takes a good 1.5hrs (Yes this thing is a beast), other fresh notes start to play in the background. With so many different notes, it really is hard to pinpoint each one. But for me, the two main accords I get are a fresh / tart citrus from the Lemon, Yuzu, Bergamot and Mandarin Orange. Mixed perfectly with floral notes from the Blue Lotus, Cypress, and Lily-of-the-Valley. Pretty much L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme is Spring in a bottle. Also, the notes come off really natural. The tartness from the Yuzu, the zestiness from the Lemon and the floral notes, all come together perfectly. If you’re looking for a warm weather fragrance you owe it to yourself to own L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme! I don’t often say the words “Beast Mode” with many fragrances. But this is a full fledge “Beeeassstt Moodddee”. L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme really projects well, this is my all-time warm weather projection monster. For the first 4-5 hours on my skin, I get a huge sillage cloud. In my past experiences wearing L’eau D’Issey, I have gotten compliments from women several feet away from me. L’eau D’Issey starts to become more of a skin scent close to the 10-hour mark. Word of caution you don’t need more than 2 sprays of L’eau D’Issey to get noticed. Overspraying can make this fragrance extremely cloying. My all-time warm weather projection fragrance. Warm weather monster ! If the projection section didn’t let you know, the longevity on L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme is incredible. I get a solid 14 hours on my skin. L’eau D’Issey is in a class of its own when it comes to longevity for a fresh fragrance, there are few fragrances that last this long. I have had multiple times where I put on L’eau D’Issey, and the next morning I can still smell it! The longest lasting fresh fragrance in my collection Season: warm weather Age Group:21+ crowd When I use L’eau D’Issey, it’s mainly in the warmer seasons. But honestly, the tartness and florals notes could cut through the coldest winters. I personally won’t be wearing this in the winter but I could see someone pulling it off. Also, you could pull this off anywhere, at work or at a cookout. Formally dressed or casual in your flip flops. Again a word of caution, please don’t overspray! My Overall Feedback on L’eau D’Issey Pour HommeL’eau D’Issey Pour Homme is a fragrance that if you’re a collector you have to own. It performs great, smells great and will bring in a lot of compliments. It’s also a great value for the price, and can be purchased for not too much coin. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a warm weather fragrance that performs well. Brooklyn's FeedbackL’eau D’Issey Pour Homme is nice. And that’s about it. It smells good but not “Oh my God” good. It’s just average. But if I smelled it on someone, I would still think they smell good. Is it worth buying? While this fragrance isn’t a must have, I would still recommend this one for your collection. It’s great for those times you’re just running out real quick but still want to smell nice. ScentLion Review ScaleEver since I was young, I have always loved to smell great. Cologne head all the way. Now that I am older I still love going to the mall or local shops to smell the latest fragrances. Always looking to make my collection of scents larger :) XavierOur Favorite Video Reviews of L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme |
